Lonely road

He walked along the highway that no one had driven for years, the bitter cold hair biting at any and all exposed skin, his feet growing numb as the hours past while his sister slept clinging to him for warmth, he continued walking in desperate hopes of finding a warm place to spend the night, all the while praying he could find work in the city and be able to afford food for a change, as the night drew on worry overcame him, if it started to rain they were hours away from any shelter aside from the graffiti ridden overpass he walked alongside of, his stomach growled loudly though he knew all to well there was no source of food near-by, "hope things will be better there....." he thought as he continued down the lonely road.
